It is not uncommon for a lot of users to use weak passwords simply because they're easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plug-ins that aren't updated for a long time. In either of these examples, it will not be hard for a hacker to take over the Internet site and from that point on to take control of other sites which may be hosted within the same account. In order to avoid this kind of a scenario, we've added an advanced level security option known as JailHost. It limits the access which a script has only to its own folder, so in case one of your websites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but will not be able to see any other content part of your account, so the damage will be small. Needless to say, using JailHost does not replace the security measures you should take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, still it'll allow you to restrict any damage to one site only.

JailHost in Shared Website Hosting

If you host your sites inside a shared website hosting account from our company, you could protect them using the JailHost feature with just a few clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. This option is accessible with all plans and can be activated for any folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have different folders, so that files for different websites don't get mixed up like it frequently happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default as you might use scripts that require access to folders outside the main website folder and this option may interfere with their proper operation, but securing all the other folders is really easy. If a protected site gets hacked for some reason, we can recover it quickly as we'll have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to view the available backups through Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you have a semi-dedicated hosting account, you can activate JailHost with several clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel since we have included this feature in all of our semi-dedicated packages. It isn't activated by default simply because you might use an app that needs accessibility to other folders within the account and JailHost could potentially cause problems, yet you can easily protect all other Internet sites by separating them from each other. It is a piece of cake because in Hepsia all domains and subdomains have separate folders. In contrast, a number of other Control Panels keep the content of multiple Internet sites in subfolders under a primary domain, so one hacked Internet site there will mean that all of them will be hacked. With Hepsia, only one Internet site can get damaged and even if this happens, we can quickly bring it back thanks to the multiple daily backups which we will keep, so you can go ahead and update it after that in order to protect it from potential attacks.
